Oh my gosh, I LOVED the finished result of this cake!

The beautiful fresh flowers were supplied by Florist Gump. I delivered the cake & flowers to Ferguson Farmstay on Saturday morning and spent almost an hour assembling the tiers . . . quite a structural feat!

The bottom 10" and top 6" tiers were accented with chandelier piping and baby pink ribbon & bow. The middle 8" tier had a lace effect with tiny pink blossoms.

Guests were treated to white chocolate raspberry mudcake & caramel mudcake with caramel ganache.

The ladies at Ferguson Farmstay loved this cake, and were nice enough to say it was the most beautiful cake they have ever had at the picturesque venue.

Steph is a good friend of my sister in law, so I jumped at the opportunity to create her dream cake!

6" 9" 12" square by 4" high tiers is visually appealing, and looked elegant with brush embroidery on the middle tier. Plum wide ribbon was a beautiful contrast to the teal sashes on the chairs at The Sanctuary Golf Resort, and together they matched the bridesmaids' contrasting gowns.

The two delicious tiers of fruit cake drizzled with french brandy were complimented by a large tier of jaffa mud cake.

Tara's cake was a 6" 9" 12" offset square configuration, with delicious marbled mud cake inside waiting to be dessert.

Double ribbon, in royal blue & silver, with sophisticated oval diamante buckles.

The topper was waiting for me at KBSC. When ordering custom made toppers, make sure the base will suit the size & shape of your top tier, and that the height will compliment the size of your cake. This cake was 12" tall.

Last weekend I delivered this classic beauty to the Lighthouse Beach Resort, and the room was beautifully decorated by Neil & Adele from Creations Unlimited.

We came up with a striking hot pink & black design, with a little bit of bling. The following 2 photos had a small stiletto topper, as I wasn't sure if the gumpaste stiletto would make the 90 minute journey to Perth.

Today is my Pa's 85th birthday.

His birthday marks the end of September, which for our family, is a crazy, busy, birthday filled month!

I created this little 6" white chocolate mudcake, to represent his passion for his vegie garden. It was so much fun creating the little lettuce, pumpkins and parsnips!

We reminisced about when I was a little girl and would draw him some artwork for his birthdays.... and now I am able to lovingly create art he can eat!

I had planned a surprise party for him, along with a surprise visit by his sister and my brother managed to wrangle a few extra days off work before he had to fly out. I'm very pleased that he didn't have a clue what we were all planning!

The theme for the cake is pretty self explanatory, and was a dream to create.

It would also make a great scuba divers cake!!

Amanda requested a mad hatter cake with the colour scheme of red, black and silver.

Such fun cakes to create, a mad hatter gives freedom to be creative. Silver "champagne bubbles" feature through out the design, along with some hand painted "pin striping", which echoes Amanda's love of cars.

This is one wedding I've been looking forward to!

My only guide lines for this cake was the theme of bird cages and vintage buttons.

A 6" birdcage rests on 8", 10", 12" & 14" tiers of white macadamia mud cake.

Drawing inspiration from several of my favorite cake decorators from all over the world, I designed an elegant vintage styled cake.

This cake was smooth sailing. . . . right up until it came time to deliver to Abbey Beach. . . .

Shortly after I set off to deliver, the cake shifted in it's box (which is crazy, due to the sheer weight of it!), and it received some pretty significant damage to the front of the birdcage! Keeping calm, I turned around and headed back to my kitchen, where I removed the damaged area with a scalpel, re-ganached and iced and replaced the silver work.

Once set up at the venue, I added the floral sprays I had prepared in case it need a little "something" extra, which I think really tip it over the edge of sophistication.

Natalie & Gary would have to be one of the loveliest couples I have had the pleasure of meeting in recent months.

Their wedding cake consisted of 70 couture mini cakes, which were quilted with silver cachous, topped with a hand molded silver dragonfly and boxed. The 6" cutting cake was quilted to match, embellished with a swirl of dragonflies and topped with Swarovski wedding bears.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my 2 special helpers, Sue & Lillian, who assisted me in completing these cakes. You helped lower my stress levels after a very busy week!

When I created Eileen's "Henry Roth" cake, Henry himself commented on the photo of the cake on my Facebook page, declaring the cake to be "Frockalicious"!! This sparked an idea in my brain, I would create a Frockalicious cake for Henry himself!

In August, I jumped on a plane to Melbourne with my Mum for the trade bridal showings, where we see and order the next season's gowns. My carry on luggage? One cake box, with Henry Roth's name on it!

I created a small 7" mississippi mudcake with stitching and textured fabric elements. Featuring a delicate fondant "Brooch" and vintage open rose touched with silver.

As per the custom in our house, I made 30 cupcakes for him to share with his class.

The "Game of the month" in our house right now is something called *Minecraft*, so a Minecraft cake it was!

This cake was "fondant free", with ganache used to ice the sides of the cake for a rough, earthy effect, and piped "grass" on top of the blocks.

The only fondant used was for the board, where I created a brick and mortar effect.

I breathed a big sigh of relief when he knew what it was instantly!

Yesterday I made my first delivery to the Rose Hotel . WOW! It was so beautiful, who knew something so beautiful was right on our doorstep!

I delivered and set up a boxed tower with a difference, my first boxed cupcakes, and I'm in LOVE! Beautiful! Vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting, decorated with delicate pink blossoms.

The 23rd of May was my son's 8th birthday . Xander LOVES Star Wars, so it was a "no-brainer" when it came to his class cupcakes & birthday cake!

2 years ago I started a dangerous trend . . . . . . making special cupcakes for my children to take to school on their birthdays to share with their class & teachers . Why is that dangerous you ask? Simply because each year, I must outdo the previous year's cupcakes!

Xander took 30 "Lego Star Wars" cupcakes this year .

When my husband suggested I create R2D2 for Xander's cake, I initially scoffed at the idea . . . . 30 seconds later my mind was spinning with ideas and the method of construction .

4 days later . . . . . .

Inside, the cake was red velvet with blue cream cheese frosting . Very yummy indeed .

And remember when I mentioned danger? Yes, this means I must make a cake of even higher levels of "awesomeness" next year! *GULP!*

Sunday was my 3rd bridal expo, held at The Sanctuary Golf Resort.

This cake is a 6 tier, 6", 9", 12", decorated in jacobean style. This design proved popular with the crowd.

This 4 tier 10" birdcage cake offered an alternative style for those brides wanting to steer away from the "traditional" wedding cake.

Red velvet cupcakes with a delicious cream cheese frosting, which were enjoyed by fellow exhibitors during pack up.

A "cartoon" style cake, something a little fun and colourful!

The unexpected star of the show! A petite cake, 4", 5", 6", known as a "mummy" cake, or the wrapped rose. With a subtle pearl all-over sheen, this cake looked heavenly!

I absolutely LOVED creating this cake! Kelly asked me to make a Rapunzel tower cake for her daughter Madison's 8th birthday.

After a little looking online, I found a picture of the tower from the movie "Tangled", and fell in love with the beauty of it. Another structurally challenging cake, required some help from my handy hubby Adam :D

A 5" white chocolate mudcake over a 10" white chocolate mudcake. Everything on this cake is hand modelled and coloured.

With well over 10 hours decorating time (not including baking, and the all important clean up!), cakes of this scale aren't in everyone's price range.

Today Catherine celebrated her 30th birthday with friends and family at Casellas, in Bunbury.

Cat sent me a photo of the papers her menu was printed on (cream & white with spots & stripes), and asked for her cake to be the same size as her baby shower cake (January). It just happened by coincidence that this was very similar to this weekend's wedding cake!

A double stack of 8" mississippi, mud topped with a 6" white chocolate mud cake. Iced in champagne fondant and sprayed with a soft edible pearl lustre. Topped with a hand cut gumpaste "30", and fondant "champagne bubbles" (which I'm sure was flowing freely with lunch ;) )

My photo of this cake simply doesn't do it ANY justice.

Consisting of a triple stack of 10" red velvet cake, and a double stack of 7" fruitcake, iced in champagne fondant hand painted for a pearlescent sheen. Many hours were spent creating intricate details by hand.

The reception was held at the breath-taking Xanadu winery in Margaret River, which meant a long drive for delivery. To reduce stress, I brought along my trusty delivery assistant, Lillian, who travelled in the back of my car and kept an eagle eye on the cake for the full 2 hour journey. We placed the cake, adding the final touch of a pearl shimmer rose. Leaving a venue is always the best feeling, knowing the cake is at it's final home safe and sound!

We wound our way through the beautiful winery as we left, and got the very rare treat of catching a glimpse of the bridal party! Stunning bridesmaids, dashing grooms-men, and the most adorable flower girl you will EVER see, Daisy. I can not wait to see photos from this very special wedding, Mike & Kylie (A.K.A Pixel Magix) were there to capture every special moment, and better yet, the dashing Mike was IN the bridal party! So stay tuned, (better yet, stalk Pixel Magix on Facebook!) I will update with a better photo ASAP!

On Saturday I had the pleasure of delivering my "Butterfly twirl" cake to Abbey Beach Resort in Busselton.

I originally designed this cake (in pink/purple) way back in early 2009 for the May '09 bridal expo, and it has since been recreated in the Martha Stewart magazine in July '09.

Always a favourite with visitors to Affordable Elegance, and a favourite of Rhiannon's!

I recreated this cake in a 6 tier version, with a lovely turquoise butterfly effect.

Last year I ran a competition on my Facebook page, giving the opportunity for one lucky couple to win a $1000 wedding cake, of my design. All they had to do was share their engagement story, and the story with the most "likes" won! James' proposal WAS pretty impressive, and very deserving of such a fabulous cake.

I met with Jessica & James to discuss ideas, and look over some rough sketches I had come up with for ideas. They chose a gorgeous 5 tier cake, and tweaked the design a little to incorporate various details from their theme.

Many, many hours were spent hand embossing, painting and moulding. I really enjoy working on this style of cake, a real work of art.

From all I have read about Nannie, I really got the feeling she is the "Queen Mum" of the family, so the design of the cake was a no-brainer. A Debbie Brown design, with a few little changes, Nannie really got to be "Queen for a day" on her birthday.

I was really pleased with how these 50 boxed mini cakes turned out. Turquoise rose petals cascaded down the 6" cutting cake onto each mini cake, 1 petal on the chocolate mud and 2 on the caramel mud cakes.

Displayed on my brand new, custom built, mini cake stand, these looked beautiful when set up at the Lighthouse Beach Resort.

I am in love with this design, the simple white on white, with just a touch of silver, not to mention the AMAZING photo, captured by the extremely talented Clare Day ! I wish I had such amazing photos of ALL my cakes!
